How to Read a Welcome Bonus Before You Claim
Start with the wagering requirement
The wagering requirement tells you how many times you must play through the bonus amount before you can withdraw any winnings. For example, a 30x requirement means you need to bet RM 30 for every RM 1 of bonus. Look for this number in the terms — lower is better. Anything above 40x is considered high and makes it harder to cash out.
If the bonus is a deposit match, check whether the wagering applies to the bonus only or to the deposit plus bonus. The latter is more expensive. For instance, a RM 100 deposit with a RM 100 bonus at 30x on deposit+bonus means you must wager RM 6,000. Always run the math before you click claim.
Check game contribution percentages
Not all games count equally toward the wagering requirement. Slots usually contribute 100%, but table games like blackjack or baccarat may contribute only 10% or even 0%. If you prefer table games, a bonus with low contribution rates is poor value. The terms will list each game category and its percentage.
For example, if you play RM 100 on a game that contributes 10%, only RM 10 counts toward the wagering. This means you need to bet much more to clear the bonus. Look for a bonus that allows high-contribution games you actually play. If only slots count, and you dislike slots, skip that offer.
Find the minimum deposit and bonus cap
Every welcome bonus has a minimum deposit to qualify. This is often RM 25 or RM 50. If you deposit less, you get no bonus. Also check the maximum bonus amount. For a 100% match up to RM 500, depositing RM 1,000 still only gives RM 500 bonus. Know these numbers so you can plan your deposit size.
Some bonuses also have a maximum bet size while the bonus is active, often RM 30 per spin or hand. Exceeding that voids the bonus. Read the terms for this limit. If you are a high-stakes player, a low max bet may frustrate you. Choose a bonus that fits your usual betting style.
Look at the expiry and withdrawal rules
Bonuses expire after a set number of days, typically 7 to 30 days after claiming. If you do not meet the wagering requirement within that time, the bonus and any winnings are forfeited. Check the expiry date in the terms. If you cannot play often, choose a longer expiry period.
Also check whether you can withdraw before finishing the wagering. Usually, if you request a withdrawal with an active bonus, the bonus and related winnings are cancelled. Some platforms allow you to forfeit the bonus to withdraw your deposit. Know this rule so you do not accidentally lose funds.

Identify restricted payment methods
Many welcome bonuses exclude deposits made via certain e-wallets. For example, Touch 'n Go, GrabPay, or Boost may not qualify for the bonus. The terms will list which methods are eligible. Always use a permitted method, such as a bank transfer or DuitNow, to avoid missing the bonus entirely.
If you make a deposit with an excluded method, you get the funds but no bonus. This is a common mistake. Before depositing, check the promotion page for the list of qualifying payment methods. If in doubt, contact the site's customer support through live chat and ask directly.
